Joining Our Team

If you have interest in becoming part of our lab we would love to hear from you. We are always open to hearing from passionate students, who have an interest in integrated primary care, healthy weight management, well-being, and related areas.

Research Assistant Opportunities:

Inquiring undergraduate students should download and complete this form and submit it to core.lab@ubc.ca along with a summary of their courses and CV.

Directed Studies Opportunities:

Earn course credit (3 credits for one term or 6 credits for two terms) by working in our psychology laboratory for approximately 8-10 hours per week throughout the term(s). We have a variety of projects ongoing examining health and well-being. A student's responsibility may vary depending on the project they undertake but often includes assisting with creating study materials, recruiting and testing participants, data entry, and literature reviews.

We are especially interested in individuals who are very reliable and organized, mature and professional, and who can work well independently as well as part of a team. Previous experience working in a research lab is an asset.

Graduate Student Supervision:
For the 2025 admission cycle, Dr. Lutes & Dr. Wirtz will not be considering graduate student applications. If you are looking to pursue a graduate degree in clinical psychology and are considering applying to the graduate program at UBC Okanagan please visit the website https://psyo.ok.ubc.ca/graduate/psychology.html for information on our graduate programme and instructions on how to apply.

Join the Lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow
